OPINION POLL

Express your opinion here

Do you support the Blue Coat School as it attempts to maintain the "status quo"?

Or do you support the Church of England as it attempts to absorb the school into its empire?

Voting closed on WEDNESDAY 7th FEBRUARY. This was to give me time to convey the results to several influential people before the deadline on Friday 9th February.

This opinion poll was started on my personal website, where it collected 39 votes - all in favour of the Blue Coat School.

After being moved to this website, a further 71 votes were recorded - again, all in favour of the Blue Coat School.

The message is quite clear - 100% of the voters support the school.

I have conveyed these results to Headmaster Sandy Tittershill, Chairman of the Board of Governors Chris Hallows, the Bishop of Liverpool Rt Rev James Jones, and to Secretary of State Alan Johnson.

Many thanks to everyone who registered their support.

A PERSONAL NOTE

I was brought up in the Methodist faith, at one time serving as a Methodist Local Preacher in Liverpool. The children from my first marriage attended Roman Catholic Schools. I now regularly worship at a Bible-believing Baptist Church in

Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, and my three-year-old daughter attends an excellent Church of England Primary School. I have

no objection to such schools existing, but my daughter's school was founded in 1960 as a Church School, and all pupils

have been enrolled on that basis. My objection is the presumption by the Church of England that it can simply "acquire"

other schools. In my opinion, this amounts to an act of theft.

The deadline for "consultation" with the Secretary of State was 9th February 2007!  We are now awaiting his decision.
